DUPLO LAUNCH LATEST INNOVATIONS AT IPEX
16 Mar 2010
Duplo International will be using IPEX 2010 to launch an array of new finishing devices aimed at 'adding value to the print line', and enabling print organisations to differentiate themselves.
In their largest ever presence at a trade exhibition, Duplo will be showing ten new finishing solutions. Ranging from bookletmakers and UV coaters to perfect binders, there will be a range of real-life customer applications running through them. Duplo's major product announcement of 2009, the Alpha Saddle Stitcher, will have its UK debut and first customer unveiling. Duplo International's Chairman, Robin Greenhalgh explains Duplo's aim for IPEX 2010.
"During the recession we have continued to thrive as a business as print organisations are looking at ways in which they can add value to their services, perhaps by adding quick turnaround perfect bound books, or by reducing their costs, which could include outsourced finishing costs. At IPEX our solutions are all geared towards adding value, either by improving quality of finished print products whilst not compromising turnaround time, or by enabling printers to differentiate themselves by introducing different products or services to their customer base."
As well as providing a launch platform for many of Duplo International's new range, IPEX 2010 will also offer its visitors the opportunity to see Duplo products on a number of partner stands, demonstrating a variety of different finishing applications.
Visitors to the Duplo International stand will have the opportunity to experience a range of new products such as the DB-280 Perfect Binder, Ultra 200 UV Coater as well as the Integrated Folding System which will be shown with Duplo's unique slitter, cutter, creasers the DC-645 & DC-445.
Another of the many exciting machines on show will be the recently launched saddle stitcher, the Alpha Saddle. Shown for the first time in the UK, the Alpha Saddle was launched to the printing press last October at Druck & Form in Germany. Terry Wafer, Graphic Arts Product Manager at Duplo International says: "We're very excited about showing this product in the UK; it had an amazing response in Germany and we are very confident it will be a major feature of the IPEX exhibition as a whole."
Duplo International, known for its wide range of finishing solutions will be demonstrating their latest offering on their stand at IPEX 2010. Among these are the following machines designed with users of digital & litho print engines in mind.
Alpha Saddle – Saddle Stitcher
Duplo's new saddle stitcher runs at up to 12,000 booklets an hour and is fully compatible with Duplo's collator towers and sheet-feeders. Able to run A4 landscape books and 2-up booklets, with the aid of a central gutter cut on the machine's three-knife trimmer, the Alpha is designed for quick set-up, high quality and fast output, with a long lasting 'heavy metal' build.
DKT200 – 2 Knife Trimmer
Also on show will be this optional module for Duplo's System 5000 bookletmaker range which provides for the precise trimming of the top-bottom of each book. The heavy duty construction of the DKT-200 benefits from a flat and straight paper path whilst allowing the operator to view the complete book process.
DB-280 - Perfect Binder
The DB280 is Duplo's new entry-level, single clamp perfect binder. Unlike many other desktop binders this machine is capable of perfect binding, tape binding, case binding and padding and includes several other outstanding features typically reserved for a more expensive machine.
Digital System 445 - Bookletmaker
Also showing at IPEX for the first time will be the Digital System 445.
Duplo's new nearline bookletmaker is a system that cuts, creases and creates booklets all in one pass. It features an integrated spine press for flatter books and optional ASM-350 Square Spine for that perfect bound effect.
Ultra 200 - UV Coater
The Ultra 200 is the company's newest entry-level flood UV coater. Designed for the printer who requires smaller production runs, the heavy duty Ultra 200 incorporates some of the features and benefits of Duplo's higher specification model the Ultra 205A.
Digital System 3500 - Bookletmaker
Also making an appearance at the show will be the Digital System 3500. This system comprises the established DSF2000 sheet feeder & the DBM350 bookletmaker. Combined they provide a system which extends Duplo's range of digital systems by offering a mid volume option for creating variable data booklets.
Digital System 5000 Pro - Bookletmaker
Using modules from the System 5000 range, Duplo's newest sheet feeder the DSF5000, forms part of the Digital System 5000 Pro being shown. This system provides the perfect solution for high speed production bookletmaking from the latest generation of mono & colour digital presses.
Duplicators
Two new duplicators also form part of Duplo's offering at IPEX. The DP-M300 is an A4 entry level machine designed to provide cost effective printing & copying of simple text & line work. The DP-U950 is an A3 suction fed duplicator which incorporates a high stacker capable of holding up to 3500 80gsm sheets.
IFS – Integrated Folder for Digital Finisher
Duplo's Integrated Folding System (DIFS) which was previewed at Drupa 2008 will be shown in its latest innovative configurations at IPEX. The DIFS is now also available with the popular DC445 DuCreaser, which only further proves how committed Duplo is to its policy of continuous technological improvement.
Duetto
Initially launched in 2004 this machine is the epitome of finishing as it addresses both digital and offset print finishing requirements by incorporating the DC10/60 collator towers with a DSF2000 sheet feeder and DBM500/T bookletmaker & trimmer. Developed with the hybrid printer in mind, this bookletmaking system is perfect to accompany you in the voyage from offset to digital without needing 2 separate systems. At IPEX it will be shown with the recently launched DCR-ST criss cross stacker which enables the user to cross stack sets in addition to bookletmaking.
"We're very happy with the latest additions to our portfolio and look forward to demonstrating their versatility and modularity to all our visitors. In todays competitive print market it's crucial that printers use equipment that is capable of handling mixed workloads and whether you are a litho printer, a digital printer or both, Duplo International has by far the widest range of products in the market and we are sure that we have a machine that is suited to you." Concludes Robin Greenhalgh.
Many other innovative modular configurations will be on show on Duplo's stand illustrating a number of value-adding finishing processes, so don't forget to visit www.duploipex.com to register and book your demonstration slot.
